As much as I want to say that looks really cool...

Lousy idea.

First of all, big magnets near computers aren't a good idea anyway. Second of all, it's going to be hard to control your movements with no friction to work against. Thirdly, when you push your hand a little too far it's going to drop down a half inch off the edge of the magnetic mat.

Wonder how much pressure it'll take before you overcome the magnetic force and the mouse gets pushed against the mat?
