I Know I know is far to much work but is also really fun to make things for your new bike.
Yeah I also know is going to be a mess to clean for ovius reasons,,anyway i like it and some day I will tell you if it works or not.

enjoy

Oh yeah the seat is super high just the way i like it,,I have another seatpost and a cushier seat for the ugly stuff

A really Old WCS tyre and some parachute cord did the trick

I use a "Hole punch" to make the many orifices necesary,,really fast and proper

the end result

I know look like a Posser bike but I don't care, maybe I just another posser only time will tell

I know is not to much of a tecnical post but I promise to be more profound later

crazy set up... do you actually ride with the seat that high?
well Yes...

the frame is a little small for me, but is not so bad

things to remenber.
*to ride around is very important to have full leg extension(at least for a out of shape dude)
*the minute you get on the bike the suspension compresses and lowers the seat a few inches...maybe I need a little stiffer spring, i'm running a 550 on a Romic(thanks greg) and i'm about 210pounds
* I like Flat seat but I need to seat the seat tilt forward so when I seat on it is flat
* I'm totally "Old School" and I'm use to riding with seats atfull height, in fact that SYncros seat post is being with me for about 14years and still straight as a arrow, so I can lower it down about 7inches in not time.

I be more than happy to get some tips,,this is my first "Serius" dual suspension bike and I'm sure a have a million things to learn,,,including new riding skills..

did I mension I race the mammoth downhill on a hardtail in 94' and 95' and I only reach 49,4 mph that was a long time ago and i stop riding bikes for about 5 years...(i was alergic to the industry)

its definatly good to get full leg exstetion when sitting, but dh is fast as you may know and you want to low, and standing most of the time. having the seat out of the way is importantfor racing so you can move your body around the bike without interupion. a high seat is good for trail riding, which you may do, but your not sitting when you race dh

thanks for comfirming my impressions, so far i'm having a ton of fun riding around on single track trails and easy downhill stuff (what a pain going uphill,,but I push my super heavy motorcycles all the time so is not that big of a deal)

I don't think I will ever race again, just takes to long to recover this days and i don't really have the skills or the B^LLs I use to poses.

anyway I can drop the seat on the fly with out much trouble.

maybe I got the wrong bike, only time will tell, maybe is a little to much bike for what i'm doing and someday somebody will get a great deal.

Pedaling Uphill is just not happening, the chain line is all "Funny" (FUBARFUnny) maybe somebody here knows of a narrower bottombracket or someway to reduce the *Q* factor and make the chain a little more efficient..

Going down the things is just incredible, It tracks better than my Motorcycle just F^^king amazing.

is for sure a whole new experience and for sure a lot of fun, Is just a shame that Berkeley does not provide a "Lift" service,,well in a few weeks i hope wistler(BC) will be open and for sure a little diferent..

Oh the guards on the chain stays are exelent but they trap far to much mud so for the next generation I'm going to use some fancy Neoprene and velcro and saw the bike tyre on top of it..

I keep my seat at handlebar height on single track and on descents as well. I've gotten so used to it that I can't descend with the seat down. The bike just feels weird when I cant rest my body on the seat with my rear hanging off the back of the bike.

same here,,,
i was never a BMX rider a bummer this days since took me a lot longer to learn the skills any way i was a cross country and touring rider for a long time so FULL extension of my legs is super important.

By the way that bike is for sale( a little differnt than in the pictures( because o got randy's Nicolai M-pire, if anybody is interested is in exelent shape, fancy Romic shock and new rear triangle thanks to greg from this site.
