I'll be happy when the Lakers lose so I don't have to see Escalades and Navigators with little Lakers flags flapping in the wind.

It's too bad the loss will only get rid of the flags though...

i have 10 bucks on the lakers not winning the championship ever since they won against the spurs. to read lakers fan whinning about fixed officiating is more entertaining than the series itself.

Dude you just made no sense.

I am a lakers fan but with only one player doing all the work the team is doomed. And right now detroit is kicking ass. (I have loved the lakes for 10 + years as well) They have a good game plan playing against the lakers. It would be a better series if the glove and the mailman weren't so old and decrepid (sp)...

What does not make sense?

10 bucks on Lakers not winning the championship........is that a weird bet? I think betting on the spread is a weird bet. There are many other bets that are certainly more weird and bizarre than a bet such as the Lakers not winning the championship. If you're talkng about the reason to take a bet like that, why not? It may be a bit of a long shot considering what people are saying about the other teams especially with 3 more series left to play (western conference finals/eastern conference finals/nba finals). But that's 2 teams the Lakers have to get through, and anything can happen.

A for the officiating, go read the lakers forum, if you even can. there's so much whinning going on, you'd probably have a hard time even opening up a thread.

I knew Detroit would play them tough, but this is an outright ass kicking! It's a 3-1 Pistons lead, but with a little luck it would have been a four game sweep for Detroit. This series is more proof that a well balanced TEAM is better than two star players.

Or even four star players! Talent wise the Lakers should win, but they are just a bunch of talented players with the same color shirts. Detroit is a team.

I don't count Malone and Payton because they are non-factors.

It'll be nice to see UConn boy Rip Hamilton win a title. :)

Detroit is definitely showing up with all 11, 12, 13, or however many players are on a team. The Lakers, with all the talent they have, just don't have the depth that Detroit has at the most important position, power forward. Malone has been the key to this team from square one--if they wanted to make it all the way, Malone had to be there step by step. I'd be curious to see just how much losing Horace Grant affected this team (probably more than anybody realizes). You've gotta hand it to Sheed though, the guy played through his foot injury and took his team all the way.

Key to the Lakers making it 2-3 and hopefully being the first team to ever come from being down 1-3:
Pull Malone from the starting line-up and save him for the second half, feed the ball to Shaq every time down the floor, smack Kobe in the back of the head if he takes a shot before the team is set up underneath, and tell Payton the game was changed to Friday.
