i've always been a hutchinson person. the phytons are great in everything except mud, and the scrop's are good in all sorts of conditions, you take your pick, or if you have the $$ get a set of both.

I really really like my IRC Serac XC tubeless 2.1 they haven't lost any air and are very fast rolling. They work great in all conditions from mud to slipery rocks and roots to dry hardpack to lose gravel.
I also think they don't wear as fast as Hutchinson.

you've only had the tires a week atmost? lol dude those and pretty much everything on the market right now are rips of the hutchinson's basic thread design. go w/ the originals that started it all. i've maybe gone through a pair of hutch's a year w/ the phtyon's. now the other lines will wear quickly.

Well the trails i ride i have to ride about 20km on road to get to them and they have lots of rocks that wear the tires out.
When i start racing again next spring i will likely use Hutchinson Sqorpions but the Seracs are great all round tires.

I wasn't impressed with the tubed version of the XLS but I might order up a set when the Comp S tubeless I have now wear out. I've been pretty happy with the durability of the Comps. Traction is decent too. But I'd prefer a fatter tire. The Hutchis are a pretty awesome tire too. But soft and they won't last too long if you ride a lot of pavement or hard ground.

I punctured a Comp about a month ago. I patched it the same way one patches a tube. Works fine contrary to what I've read. And they hold air as well as any tubed tire I've had. And tubeless roll faster and I can run stupid low pressures if I want. That's just for the tubeless tire nay sayers who will scoff.

What are you riding on? The Larsen TTs are nice for SoCal conditions, good for everything except sand. Mind you, not much is great in sand. Don't know about the mud either. I like them a little better than Pythons myself.
