Elk and pigs are both migrating into New York. Wild Turkey are everywhere. We should make it through the year easily. I already have a cellar full of veggies and smoked fish. The hunt hasn't even started. Wood is all chopped and stacked, Gun and bow are sighted and ready to go. No poaching this year.
Nothing sucks worse then getting caught in traffic on the way to ride. After you have been napping all day. If it wasn't for all those jerks coming home from work I would be riding already. I hate them.
16 miles from my place in SF to my office in Oakland. Reverse commute, but it still sucks to drive most days, mostly because it's so unpredictable - it can be anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes.
About 25 minutes by motorcycle - BRAAAP!
A little less than an hour if I ride my bike to BART (train) and take that over.
For the three hellish years I lived in Florida, anywhere from 60 to 120 minutes to go from Plantation to West Palm Beach. In Charlotte, 20 mins. More importantly it's not Florida.
On a few of the really nice days, I have been known to do that. I take Skyline and if I don't get stuck behind anyone, I can go end to end in 20 minutes. So 20min to Skyline, 20min on Skyline, then 20min home. I makes for a nice 2 hour lunch and one hell of a fun drive. As long as I don't get stuck behind someone.
When I'm fit it takes me about 10 minutes to ride singletrack into the National Park I work in. 15 minutes by car cause I have to go the long way by road.
On my lunch hour I was able to bike to the cheap pizza place for a couple of slices and a can of pop, bike home, change my bottom bracket, lube my chain, make an espresso and be back at work, all within an hour. It's nice to live so close to work. But holy cow, what's with this heat wave?! I'm sweating like a pig in August... with the humidity it feels like 86°F out there... normal temps are supposed to be around 53°F...
