I snapped the head off a rotor bolt, ok I know how that happened.

so anyways I though I would have to drill into it and then use a reverse tap thingy to get it out, have done that before, then ysterday I was testing out the bike (new one, so checking brakes) next thing I know is that the bolt has screwed itself out !! The head had broken of flush with the hole, saved me a lot of effort.

did it have something to do with brake force, any ideas ?

I've been able to get broken bolts out with pliers or an awl before, once the head breaks off there's not a whole lot of force on the threaded part of the bolt keeping it in the hole. If you were riding around vibration probablly caused the bolt to work its way out.

Was there no lock tite??? Vibrations will loosen a bolt like kornphlake said. If there was lock tite, I couldn't see that happening.
