how do companies measure stem length

    is it center to center, along the red line or the green line, or is it some other way

    I do it from underneath,and push the glands back so I get a true length.

    The measurement is reach, not length, it is the red line like HondaH8r sed.

    they probably measure stem length with a high quality steel ruler.

    I am pretty sure they use high power laser and GPS ;)

    well if they are still modeling it in pro-e they just click on stuff. no rulers involved.

    the reason i ask is, PricePoint said you dont measure horizontally, like you would to measure your frames virtual top tube

    they said you measure it parallel to the stem, like this...

    The whole thing confuses me so I only buy stems with 0* rise.
