Hi all,

I am doing brand perception research for protective gear brand---Pro-tec.
I have couple questions for you guys to help me out.
Any your opinion will be useful to me understanding the how users received from the products.
Thanks

Do you skateboarding/snowboarding/BMX?

How many years?

What do you think about helmet/pads changing these couple years? Anything comes to your mind

Do you always wear Helmet?
if not, why?

Do you always wear pads?
if not, why?

What do you think about Pro-tec as a brand? Anything comes to your mind

Do you own Pro-tec helmets/ pads? what model is it?
If no (What brand/model is it?)

What do you like/dislike about it?

Why did you choose it?

Do you ever injure with / without helmet/or pads ? Where?

Do you find any problem wearing Pro-tec's helmet/pads?

If you have a chance to change your own gear you will?

Any other comment?

Find someone who's first language is English (that's good at it) to go over your questions and help you write them so they make a little more sense.

Skateboarded for about 15 years. Dirtjump/dh bike for about 7.

Stop using elastic straps above the calf area on knee/shin pads. This allows too much movement. A rigid strap that doubles back through a loop is by far the best system for keeping them in place in a crash.

Almost always

Do you always wear pads?
if not, why?

Knee/shin pads almost always.

Years of good skateboard pads....never owned any bike stuff other than a helmet.

Whatever the cpx foam dirtjumper helmet is called.

What do you like/dislike about it?

Works great. I can crash on it all day long and it still works.

Why did you choose it?

Because I can beat my head up against a concrete wall and it still works.

Do you ever injure with / without helmet/or pads ? Where?

Seriously bad concussion where I tore the meninges around my brain hanging up on a vert ramp with a skateboard and went straight to the flat bottom. That was with an old style protec helmet though.

Do you find any problem wearing Pro-tec's helmet/pads?

I can't find them anywhere to try on.

If you have a chance to change your own gear you will?

Not sure what this question means. If I need new pads, I buy them.

Any other comment?

You guys should make some smaller kneepad/shinguards with the neoprene flap backing like the drop in skate pads. Same system around the knee but with less padding, and a shinguard bottom. I'd buy them in a heartbeat.

Dirt jump

how many years?
I've been falling hard for 25 plus years.

soft foam in helmets is nicer then that hard crap. Pads that move/slide around are worthless. Knee pads that bunch up in the back suck.

Do you always wear helmet?
If not, why?
If i'm riding hard, yes. My current protec helmet is cracked from slamming my head into the ground.

Do you always wear pads?
If not, why?
Knee pads always. I have knees like the head of a newborn child. Shin pads i wear sometimes.

What do you think about pro-tec as a brand? Anything comes to your mind
have a ten dollar head, wear a ten dollar helmet. Oh wait, that was bell....

Do you own pro-tec helmets/ pads? What model is it?
If no (what brand/model is it?)
helmet. Dunno the model. It's black and cracked. Soft foam.

What do you like/dislike about it?
I like it fine.

Why did you choose it?
I was forced to wear a helmet at a park and had to buy what they were selling. I'm not loyal to any one brand, just functionality.

Do you ever injure with / without helmet/or pads ? Where?
All parts of my body have been abused.

Do you find any problem wearing pro-tec's helmet/pads?
No

if you have a chance to change your own gear you will?
I change it when it needs replacing and i have money to do so.

Any other comment?

I would love to see a nice knee pad with a light shin guard that could be attached. Like the 661 evo or the Fox Launch, but with a shin pad too.

Anyone remember that protec that you could turn into a full face by buying and bolting on the front guard?
