I used to live next to this asian (two, actually) store that had an entire isle dedicated to this wonderful food item. They also sold quarts of blood, whole fried fish and assorted intestine parts (salad bar style).

I've never heard anyone call it anything other then rah-men.

*goes off to get a soda pop.....

rah-men, even though it makes me wince because it evinces disturbing visions of the kisses you blow at Rex Grossman.
he sings this in his rex grossman shrine room...

wistfully thinking of the bears glory days when rex was a starter.

Anyone know the different between top ramen and ramen?
It's Rah-min, just so you know.

FUN FACT!
The word "ramen" is a Japanese pronunciation of the Cantonese term "la mein."

I have no idea where I am
What kind of back-woods freak pronounces it any way other than rah-men?
Man, Greenville sure has changed a lot.

There was chinese restaurant downtown close to campus that I used to get lunch from. They had a local girl working the cash register who asked me, " do you want any souse with that ? ". I knew she meant soy sauce, but it sounded like she was asking me if I wanted any of this...

I call them "Oodles" because when I was a kid, mom bought the "Oodles of Noodles" brand, not the Ramen brand. Oodles was probably cheaper. We was po'. 18 cents for Ramen was too expensive for mom.
