On the caliper of my 07 BB7 mechanical brake the wire keep slipping out; is there anything I can do to make it stay tighter? I tried tightening the screw as much as possible but it still slips out.

you've probably tweaked the fixing plate. Make sure the plane of the plate is totally flat, or take it to your LBS and they can fix it or get a replacement from SRAM.
This happened to me, the cable actually dug a little channel in the lever arm on the caliper. Loosen the pinch bolt, wrap the cable around the bolt 180deg. and re-tighten it. You should be golden.
