How is it that i can be burning out at 8 hours

Well i noticed myself that if i'm not going to school i can do an extra 3-4 hours without any more tiredness. So i think the fact that instead of first going to work for 10 hours than biking he's able to do alot more because he goes out and ride for 8 hours and thats his work for the day.

You have to gradually increase your volume over months and years. Someone like Armstrong didn't just fall of the couch and onto the podium, yaknow?

When I didn't work it was a lot eaier to train 20-30 hours a week too. Now that I work 40 hour weeks I am luck to get 5 hours of training in a week. This race season and epic rides are really going to be hell this year......... Oh well, do what ya can....
