Oh Im sure you're right about that N8. The vultures from both sides of the aisle will try to turn a profit from this in one way or another. That's just politics.

Every politician in the country right now is telling their teams "find a good excuse for me to go to VT and get on television".

God damn I f*cking hate politicians. All of them.

That's what the 51% of abortion hating, gun loving, religious nut job right winger Americans who voted for Bush did, so why not?

Welcome to the photo op, Mr. President.
You should have seen the first draft of his speech. Check out this exceprt:

And now, those unfortunate victims are in the arms of a loving God. All of them, except that Jew professor who escaped the Nazi ovens only to receive his reward of Satan's fire because he did not accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

Thankfully, the White House had someone who didn't go to Liberty University proofread it and they took that out...

Well, for the record, this particular abortion-hating, gun-loving, religious [snip] American didn't and I don't identify with either wing, right OR left. They both beat so hard in opposite directions that all the bird can do most of the time is turn in circles.

Didn't say you did, just making a point.

A large percentage of people who actually get off their fat asses to vote, vote based purely on emotion for hot button issues, or along pure party lines if they are ridiculously stupid.

And the man who wishes to ignore his own constitution as well as the voice of the people who elected him by disregarding civil rights at home, human rights abroad and international law the world over, was?

Please, there is a reason he has the second lowest presidential rating, ever.

sorry, do kindly point me toward this magical, authoritative, & widely accepted document called 'international law', which apparently has to usurp - not compliment - our constitution.

2nd lowest presidential rating? by whom? canadians?

seeing how W hasn't changed significantly since his last run at office, in order for him to be viewed so dimly would be a poor reflection upon the electing masses, not him.

he's chess, not checkers; and the world doesn't recognize egg-timers

True it's a poor reflection on the 50.000001% who may have been stupid enough to believe his lies and voted for him. Personally I am pissed and disappointed at whoever voted for the clown. But that doesn't mean he can escape criticism. Or do you believe that once elected a president can do no wrong? If so, wait 'til next term and see how you respond.

As for "chess, not checkers" are you saying he's too sophisticated for the world to recognize his genius? If so, maybe you can also tell us what flavor Koolaid you drank. Do you think that regurgitating some rebublo press conference sound bite BS attempt at being clever is going to convince us here?

bear in mind while there were people who voted for him, there were also those who voted against kerry, et. al. Never did i suggest he's beyond criticism, just the argument for it (in this particular case) didn't pan out. Also i never suggested a president can do no wrong. As history has shown, that's the one thing he will do to everyone at sometime during his term.

checkers v. chess is an attempt to illustrate there's a practical limit to nuancing the rapidly ever-shaping world.
