I don't even keep track; it would just make me mad. I'm sure my numbers are pretty close to yours. However, my truck gets about 24 MPG, but I drive a lot of miles...johnbryanpeters said:I put in 1,354.5 U.S. gallons at a cost of $2,994.11 and drove 23,461 miles, averaging 17.3 MPG.

hey kids, if you are wondering what BMW or Audi to buy, take a look at this post.
american express keeps tabs of all this and gives a year end summary broken down by category. their system of categorization isn't perfect but it's not half bad . all that + no fee + 1-5% cash back (for amex blue cash).BigMike said:How do you guys keep track of this stuff? I have never gotten a broken down summary of exactly what and where I spent my money for the year.......
Unless you are deducting it for buisness purposes, what does it matter?
Up until last year I think, I still had just about every paycheck stub since I started working. About 20 years worth.johnbryanpeters said:I have engineer's disease - I have kept a gas expenditure and mileage spreadsheet for years - pulled summaries from that.

Easy, "QuickBooks Pro", I've been using it for 6 years. Can't imagine life without it... controls my bank accounts, prints my checks, does my taxes, journals my credit cards, etc. It allows me to do 15-20 bills with full record keeping and printed checks, in about 5-10 min. Try pulling that off with hand checks sometime.
Fuel status for 2005:
Total Expense $5775.77
Total Gallons 2221.45
Total Miles 42,207

Yeah, no crap. I have no clue what I spent on gas last year. Probably in the neighborhood of $3,000, plus the wife's gas-friendly vehicle.BigMike said:How do you guys keep track of this stuff?
