I'm trying to convince the bank to help me set up a bike shop and I need some figures.
What do you ride?
How many weeks a year do you ride?
How many sets a of tires do you use?
how many sets do you have at any given time (dry weather, rock terrain...?
would all your year's tires in one go if you were offered a good deal?
How many times do you change your brake pads, drive chain... a year?
realy appreciate any help!

What do you ride? RacerX, Jamis Dragon and Specialized Allez Comp(all full custom)
How many weeks a year do you ride? 4 days a week at 52 weeks a year and or about 5,000 miles between the 3 of them.
How many sets a of tires do you use? 2 or 3 for the road bike and maybe 3 for the mtbs
how many sets do you have at any given time (dry weather, rock terrain...? 2 spares - 1 set knobby 1 set semi-slickish
would all your year's tires in one go if you were offered a good deall? Probably not
How many times do you change your brake pads, drive chain... a year? Road bike chain = 1 every year and a half mtb at least 2 a year. Brake pads about 1 set per mtb.

Personally i'm riding 1 bike to xc and dh etc.
Like most brroke cyclistst i usually buy each part a la carte so a price break on a year of tires wouldn't be feasible but sounds good.
I go through about 10 tires a year or so, a couple chains,deral'rs, 5 or so sets of brake pads,a seat or 2 depending on crashes and that kind of thing.

Check out the financial reports available through the National Bicycle Dealers Association. They do an annual study on the costs of doing business for bike shops nation-wide. Yeah, you have to pay for the report, but if you're serious it could be a worthwhile purchase.

I ride XC.
I ride approx 32 weeks out of the year (April through November)
I use one set of tires (too lazy to keep changing them)
I have three sets of tires in my garage (all around tires, sticky tires, narrow XC tires)
I'll buy any parts if they're a good deal
I change the chain, brake pads, etc about once a year

I go through about 3-4 tires every 2 years (not including countless tubes)... 2 summer seasons I'll go through 2 rears and 1 front. 2 winter seasons will eat about 1 rear tire.

I go through about 3 sets of housing in 2 years.

Every 3 years (roughly) sees a drivetrain rebuild. Middle ring, Granny, chain, cassette.

I go through about 6 XC tires a year and 2 sets of road tires. I'll wear out 3 to 4 middle rings on the XC bike and a cassette and go through about 8 chains.

I get to ride 11 months out of the year but 2 of those months are under nasty cold conditions.

DH 1 rear tire every 2 race weekends. 1 front Every 3 races.
XCSS 3 Rears a year 1 front a year.

DH parts as needed.
SS Chain every 500 miles or so.

Brake Pads
Dh EBC Reds 5 sets per season (if its muddy or raining add 3 more)
XC EBC Reds 3 sets per season (if its muddy or raining add 1 more)

Casset/Freewheel
Dh One every 2 years (2 wheel sets)
SS- Not yet
Cogs
Dh- One every 2 years or as needed
SS- 2 a year ( but I have 3 differtn rings i swap between)

Brakes hoses- As need both bikes. One full spare set for each bike.

Both bike are tubless.

I change my other stuff as it breaks
