And why? Please rate the following consequences:

pedal kickback?

harsh action while pedaling over bumps?

pogo-ing due to extension under power, which relaxes at the dead spot of the stroke?

Associated brake effects?

Rear wheel hangup due to excessive rearward axle path?

Another effect?

How much anti-squat is too much?

Not really sure, but if I don't have enough anti-squats, I end up having to deek off trail to find a tree an squat.

Too much anti-squats would probably just cause a backup in pressure till ya blow an o-ring.

Blown out o-rings are not much fun - especially if you don't have enough anit-squats. If you have too many squats it a bloody pain in the o-ring.

This does lead one to think there must be a balance point between squats and anti-squats - ya just gotta prevent blown out o-rings.

This however may be a personal thing, being everybody is different, I would think that a range of anti-squats would balance the needs of most people. As well, as having enough anti-squats keeps people from having to deek off trail to find an appropriate tree an squat - we just could run out of easily accessible trees if we don't have enough anti-squats.

So, how much is too much? Is there a number or bike that has too much and exhibits this? I am really asking if there is a consensus and what it might be, rather than general terms.

If the numbers posted here are to be believed, that's not really possible, as it has been shown by some of the experts here that the Tantrum Meltdown has up to 325% AS.

On the face of it, that would seem to be a lot. Waaaayyyy more than any other bike. So, somewhere between 100% and 300%, there must be the cutoff point.

The tacos I'm making tonight will induce all of the squats.

Can't add anymore tags to the thread. Way to go guys.

Are you going to be running a Design Contest involving the proper suspension characteristics for your bike?

If not before I assist in design of your bike, I wish that you put me on retainer to the sum of one of your frames.
