Depends on where you are riding, and how good the bearings are. But yes, location is key as well. Main pivots, maybe once every six months unless you ride in water and/or fine dust, then a little more often. Wheels, the same thing. If any of them get submerged, say on a creek crossing, then rebuid them after that ride just to make sure. You can always open them up and see. If the grease is gray, then you need to rebuild.
