can someone give me specific step-by-step instructions on how to change the travel on my 2002 Psylo race. I know it's adjustable from 80mm to 125mm but I'm not sure how to go about it.

Is it possible to make it exteranally adjustable? on the fly?

Incorrect. Psylo race goes from 80-100-125 by adding or removing spacers on the shaft in the pure air side of the fork. You have to take it apart to do so. You cannot make it externally adjustable. U turn, if that's what you were thinking, is for coil spring forks only. Now next years Fox TALAS fork will be externally adjustable 80-125 and everything in between air shock and on the fly too. I want one.

Its probably best to check the Rock Shox website for diagrams and instructions on how to do it. I think that's what I did.

Anyway,

let the air out of the bottom.
let the air out of the top.
undo the air side top cap
undo both of the foot bolts/nuts and tap them up to release the lowers
remove the lowers and splash oil on your shoes
get your snap ring plier out and remove the snap ring from the bottom of the air side stanchion
remove the air side guts and splash more oil on your shoes, this time getting inside the shoe
add remove spacers as you see fit to get the desired travel.
One caution. My fork was missing a washer to back up the large spacer which is "c" shaped in section. When in to run the fork at 100mm, the spacer cuts into the black top out bumper. You might want to check for that.
I think you need 2 spacers to run the fork at 80mm
Reassemble.
Dump 5cc of redrum earl on top of the air piston then put the cap on to 40 inch pounds
flip over and put 10cc of 5 weight into the shaft holes to both sides and close her up. Air up and enjoy.
I just did a complete oil change and cleanup of my Psylo Race so the proceedure is still familiar. But I put too much oil in because I was going from memory. Couldn't find my manual. That cased the fork to be too progressive and I wasn't getting a full 125 travel even with low air. Fixed it.
