Anyone know? I am pretty clueless. The fork is a 2002 JR.T and the headset is an FSA Pig DH Pro if it helps

i just take a screwdriver or the like and tap semi-gently around the edges, alternating edges and making sure to hit the edge that hasn't budged. so far i haven't damaged any of my faces irreparably.

Yeah, I usually use tho method that Toshi described. However, there is a tool made for this very job. I know Park makes one, but it costs over a hundred dollars I think. Screw driver and hammer is the way to go.

Sometimes you can get away with a bit of wood insted of a screwdriver.

campagnolo makes a tool that is much cheaper roughly 40 i think colorado cyclist has it. Get a punch instead of scredriver, punches are inexpensive, very versetile and you wont break blade of driver and mar crown(almost all ways happens with screwdriver)

Yeah, I was trying the screwdriver approach and said to myself "you know, there might be an easier way to do this....let's find out." When I get back to school I'll just go and wail away at it. Buying a $40 tool is not an option. Hell, I could get a new headset for that. And I doubt that the shops around here have one of these newfangled things

dude that tool is like hella fun to use. it's a wedge that just drives it off but you just give it a jerk or two and ping, right off. the screw driver will work just be careful. work your way around the race like toshi said.

OH BTW here is the campy version, I have never used and i am not sure how it works.

The Marzocchi forks have a flat notch underneath the race in the front and back that a flathead screw driver fits in perfectly. Just make sure the head is close the size of that slot. Not too wide and not too narrow. Put the screw driver in there and give it a light tap with a smaller hammer and the race will pop right off. You don't have to hit it very hard. Just a light tap in the front and then repeat on the back side. Just don't over do it with your hammering. Light taps till it comes off so you don't damage anything. It works for me easily everytime and I have never had any damage to anything.

You turn the fork upside down put the tool between the legs so it rests on the race and hit it.

Of course the campy tool is designed for skinny road fork crowns. I've found it doesn't fit on most suspension crowns. The slide hammers are super trick but expensive for a home user.
