hey guys,

thanks for the help on the last problem. now i have a new one.

does any one know how to fit a E13 chain device onto a 03 Giant DH comp?

the bracket that comes with it cant be used and if u turn it around you cant tighten the crank up properly, is it easier today with different cranks? im running XT cranks, but im thinking of upgrading.

thanks,
David

P.S. i took my bike into the bike store today and its not the dish on the wheel, the rim is in the centre so there jsut going to dish it towards the right side of the bike. maybe its jsut my dice hoodoo hub.

The E13 SRS has a small special addendum to the instructions for Giant DH bikes. Mine went together fairly easily, and I didn't have a problem with the cranks not fitting.
You can email: support@e13components.com and ask for the addendum and they'll send it to you.

I'm not sure what your LBS is telling you on the rim. The Giant takes a zero dish rear wheel. If you took them a normal rear wheel, they probably meant it was dished for a 'normal' 135mm rear end.
A zero dish wheel means that the rim is centered between the hub flanges, not centered in the middle of the whole hub assembly.

Here, I'm hiding from work today and had some free time:

You have to flip the ISCG adapter outbound to clear the linkages I believe. On top of that you'll have to use a spindle that's longer than 125mm. The XT won't clear this - you'll need a Diabolus, Saint, or ISIS set up to achieve this chainline.

hey,

thanks for that bushwacker. that was heaps of help, except that my rim is in the centre of the hub flanges not thje whole hub assembly, lol. i think i might look for a new and improved hub centre, because im running a dice hoodoo 12mm. and its got a nice big flange kinda ofthing on the disc side and like almost nothing on the drive side so im guessing this is whats causing it.

and thanks to jonas as well. does that mean if i went out and brought a truvativ isis drive 100mm [shell size] and 148mm [spindle length] it would work ? :-D

any way thanks so much guys you guys are so help full.

I guess I should have said that I'm using the stock BB, and Race Face cranks, not XT's.
148mm seems really, really wide to me, but if that's what you have to do, then I guess it is.
