"How to learn some tricks"

without being flippant, I would strongly recommend buying a BMX (20")

fantastic to develop your trick skills on both dirt and harder surfaces (skatepark, street)

for example, a session spent at a skatepark on the jump box will quickly teach you how a bike handles in the air

and with BMX you need to be accurate as they are quite unforgiving, which teaches you precision, and quickly helps build alot of strength and stamina in your upper body

also, BMX are cheap to buy, cheap to run as they don't really break unless you do something really stupid, the wheels are MUCH harder to bend than MTB wheels, which makes BMX great for learning 360s, whips, etc.

once you go back onto your big bike, the extra cushion and stability helps you rip it up, with a developed skillset and feeling of control
