How to remove a Saint brake lever axle ?

I am trying to remove the lever axle on my Saint brakes, but the axle seems stocked. I have removed the small screw which secure the lever axle, and it is my impression the axle has to be pressed out. However, I can not succeed in doing that.

Any advices ??

thanks

i always smash mine out with something drifty like a small allen wrench.

the pin thing gets deformed a bit where it gets smashed.

But it always still goes back in and works fine... I've done about 5 levers.
There is probably a $40 no-longer-produced Shimano tool for doing it properly.

Sounds like somebody got new levers for Christmas!!

I remember having to 'coax' my lever shaft out. In fact, I think I had to replace one of mine after coaxing it a bit too far.

Yes, I got some Straitline levers....and now they are mounted thanks to you guys !!! Simply awesome that it is possible to post such a question on RM and then have an answer 3 minutes after. Problem is solved, levers are mounted and I am going riding tomorrow. Thanks guys, and Merry Christmas !!
