Hi,
I have a pair of "Pace 2000 RC36 evo3" forks which I have had from new and wish to service/ change oil. I have removed the bottom legs to clean seals etc but cannot find any info on how to strip the tops or change the oil. I have contacted Pace for info but they said they had no service info for this fork!....I could remove circlips and try and strip fork as I do have parts dia but if I could find the correct method that would be much better!.
I know I could send the forks away but as a maintenance fitter I like to take things apart.

I have looked on the net but cannot find any info ...I guess people want you to pay for a sevice!!

I have tried on another forum with no luck but was told this was the place for info!

If anyone can help that would be great.

Pace forks aren't very popular in my corner of the world, I'm not sure if they are even imported at all. Forks are pretty much all the same though, unscrew the top caps and see what you can see. Unless there's a sealed plastic cartridge like the old Judy's (??? maybe Indy???) you should be able to take it half way apart, drain the oil out and replace it. Be careful to catch all the oil and measure it so you'll know how much to put back in.

Really it would help to have the manufacturer's torque specifications though, many of the threads are aluminum and can be stripped pretty easily.

Thanks for your help. The top Caps are held in with "circlips", I have removed these but the caps still dont want to come out!!
I have not tried to force them as I dont want to damage them. The top caps do have damping control knobs going through them, maybe I have to remove these first?

Hi,
I have just spoken to a very nice man who services these forks, and he gave me the info I needed. You do indeed need to unscrew the adjuster rod and then you can lift out the cap to replace oil!...easy.
