I said the exact same thing this morning...I cant beleive the news of a 3rd rate rider makes it to the news sites.

Something slightly off topic:
Here's an observation from living in both Canada and the US (presently). It seems ppl in the US, once given the OK to do something, will do it to the level where they get that 'OK' taken away or they kill themselves, be it drugs, mountain biking, camp fires, speed limits, law suits, ect. There's almost no realization of "hum, maybe I'm good to do this to this point...so I can do it again later." I don't know if it's a lack of common sense or the 'because I can' syndrome.
I was born on the other side of the world so I'm not really understanding the US mentality too well. Can someone explain to me the 'go big or pi$$ off' mentality in the US because I didn't see this in Canada when I lived there. This is not meant as a knock on the ppl of US, just a hope of understanding from the eyes of another culture.

That statement is like saying all chinese people know how to laundry, or all japanese people know how to do karate...just another stupid generalization by someone who cant understand that everybody is different by being raised differently. There are idiots all over the world, maybe the US just stands out more becuase our media is getting desperate for material. And since our country is run by media, if anything makes the news...a whole lot of people from around the world are going to know.

Isen't it kinda funny that DH'er keep getting caught using "stuff" that doesn't make you go any faster on a bike, but the XC guys that everyone knows are using drugs that make you go faster almost never get caught????? Really makes ya wonder...........
