Ina-Yoko Teutenberg won the sprint finish on Sunday of the final stage Merco Classic after a grueling seventy-two mile ride in wet weather. This finishes a solid race in Merced for HTC-Highroad with three stage wins out of four.

Ally Stacher went in an early break for the first half of the race, forcing Peanut Butter to Chase.

"I was up front with a girl from Air Force and one from Tibco," said Stacher. "We knew the group would eventually catch us but we just wanted to keep the break going as long as possible."

Peanut Butter & Co. had nine riders controlling the front of the peloton, and did a good job to keep things together.

By mid race the break had been absorbed by the peloton and despite much trying, nothing else got away.

It wasn't until the final three kilometers where the girls opened the throttle and the three HTC-Highroad riders made their move.

"It was a hard race today," says Teutenberg, "and it got pretty cold out there. We gave it everything to make it hard for Peanut Butter but in the end we decided to save it for the stage win."

"In the final I was able to follow trains from other teams. It was a fast finish and I came off Pascal Schnider's wheel for the win. It's nice to be at the end of this solid block of racing here and in New Zealand."
