Im looking to replace the hub bearings on my Hope Big Un dh hubs....I was wondering if anyone knew where I could buy some, other than going through Hope...I know they are available from other sources, but Im not sure what.....
they are the sealed cartride kind like on skateboards, but for a 20 mm axel front hub
Thanks for any help

well, I'm sorry I can't be TOO specific, but just call up an industrial supply place; they're everywhere. You'll have to get the specific dimensions of the bearing though; if you have a micrometer caliper you can use that or maybe Hope will be cool enough to give you the dimensions.

You can also try www.thomasregister.com to search for places that carry bearings, just do a search on "sealed cartridge bearings" and it'll probably give you 200 places that carry 'em....

All cartridge bearings have a serial number on them. Take out the bearings, write down the number, find yourself a bearing store, and you can get some new ones. There's a bearing store here in Boston, and you can get any bearings your heart desires there.

LBS's can get them for you, but there will be a slight markup becuause of a couple more middlemen. Use the thomasregistry as Sub6 said, or mcmaster.com, or a more local place for you. As someone pointed out, you can just read the number on the bearing, such as the standard 6903. You can also make a bearing upgrade while you're at it and get a better quality bearing than what came with the hub.
