alright heres the deal.. the hub makes a creaking popping kinda sound rolling just when its weighted ie. me seated freewheeling. It will pop whatever like 3 times then stop then do it again, not continuous. It does it rolling forward and backward, but not when under any type of pedaling load or no weight on the wheel at all. It engages fine although there is a little play in the cassette. is there a problem with my freewheel mechanism? the axle has not play and is tight.

when it pops is there any effects on the bike? (ex: pedal snap, feels like the wheel is stuttering, etc.)

no,, no probs when pedaling at all not even as much as a noise. thats the odd part. its just noise when im rolling, and i can *feel* it through the cranks. i know it is indeed something with the rear hub.
hmm.. would axle be a better guess since it does spin fine with no weight? but it makes no noise pedaling. it seems fine when theres a load on the cassette. thats even light pressure in a high gear. as long as its not freewheeling.
