Phoenix is one of the host cities for survivors of Katrina, and I rode by the place last night and talked to some of them. The stories are crazy! Dead bodies EVERYWHERE (I'll spare the horrible details). People shooting at anything that moves. The cool thing is that Phoenicians are showing up in mobs to help. In addition to the clothes and other donations, people just drove up and said: "Who's up for dinner?", and people would jump in to their vehicles and cruise off for dinner, drinks, whatever. I'm proud to be an American today.
