I've been wanting to do a Fall aspen ride for years (ever since I saw some Anthony Sloan pix), and now I've experienced it, I am going to make it an annual pilgrimage.

Aspen Vista Trailhead:

Heading up from the trailhead - a light breeze made the aspens shimmer in gold:

High mountains, blue spruce intermix with the aspens:

Nothing like the aspen's silver-white bark and shimmering gold leaves to make a mountain biker's heart happy!

A Santa Fe Brewing Co Java Imperial Stout in the mountains above Santa Fe - just doesn't get much better than this:

Those fvcking leaves are the reason our little mountain town has been packed with tourists the past 3 weekends... effing leaves. These people flock up here like they don't have any leaves where they live. /rant

I do love fall though.
