Well, no, if you're just getting into it, ride it until you destroy it, then look for a decent used bike.

Yes, i am going to use the bike for the street to get around, but plan on killing the trails before i get a better bike. Can i find a good bike for 300 dollars

you might find an older, used hardtail for $300. new stuff at that price won't last on the trails. you should start saving your $$$. oh, and welcome to the RM
