Anybody seen it yet?

I think I'm going to watch it again. I thought it was a great movie, but I feel a little empty after watching it and I'm not sure why. It seems like there was something missing but I can't put my finger on it. Or maybe I was supposed to feel like that.......?

We went to IMax and saw it. I liked it, but it would have been just as good on a normal screen. With a Coke and corn, it was $36 for the 2 of us. Ouch.

I NEVER go to the movies anymore.

We have a redbox at our local grocery store and it's only $1 to rent a movie for a night.

I've had Netflix for about 6 years or so. I love Netflix, but my home system needs a serious upgrade (soon after the new year), so some flicks you just HAVE to see in the theater (Transformers for one).

We get new movies in about a day, it's nice.

Yeah my home system isn't bad. The biggest problem is we always watch movies after our daughter is in bed so I can't really have them on to loud.

Why don't y'all just use the library? I can reserve a dvd (or a book!) and if it is in the county-wide system, it'll be transfered to my branch.

The filming around the Brooklyn Bride was HUGE. I have seen a lot of big movie sets in New York but this one was just a crazy amount of material, autos, lights etc.

I hate going to the movies but love watching it home. Often its enough for me just to see it on the computer but I would like to get a good flat screen and an easier computer to TV connection so we can watch it on the TV. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Our 42" LCD HDTV has a standard video (RGB) and audio inputs so a regular monitor cable and a generic 1/8" audio cable is all we need to watch movies from my PC.

I love anytime a movie shows a dead-ass Manhattan (Vanilla Sky did it for like 30sec). Wish it could have dealt more with everything but Will Smith and the 'God' angle. Also, weeds all over the city in three years? Puh-leeze!

Exciting premise, but filled with product placements and Will Smith.

So is it essentially a zombie movie?

I know it's based on a book and there are two other movies also, but is this interpretation a character study or just mindless action?

I missed the product placement. Example?

Close, but not quite. In the book, they are vampires. In the movie, they are something a bit more "plausible".

I'd say the movie is a character study with enough action thrown in to keep it paced well. I thought it was pretty good.

I havent seen this, but Im just going to assume that "28 Days Later" essentially covered the topic about as well as can be done and not go see it.

It did.

I kept thinking something (specific I mean) was going to happen, but when something else happened, I wished what I had thought of happened instead.

Overall, WAY too many plot holes. It could have been done better.

I was entertained though, and I guess that's what I pay $10- for.

well , since it sounds like the majority liked it here i'll be the 1st to call it crap. the movie had the potential to be good but i thought the infected humans [computer generated] were pretty bad just like a whole bunch of gollom's running around the city at night.then when they killed the dog off that just totally wrecked the movie for me. i could go more into detail about why i didn't like it , but i won't waste my time. this film has nothing on omega man .

I thought the CG was sweet. My only real complaint is it didn't go into a whole lot of detail about virus. Once I get my new TV, I'm sure I'll see it at home at least once.

I have got to start doing this. I have a hard time returning things to the library though. I have books now that are two months over due. Supposedly our downtown branch has a really great selection.

ETA, I hate Will Smith.

do you play with a hoop and stick and hang out at the malt shop while you are waiting for your swell movie disc to show up?
This is the reason why we have rep!

I saw it this weekend too, I'm not sure if I'd see it again, at least in the theater. Good movie for sure, I enjoyed it, it was a bit depressing, but I thought he did a pretty good job of playing someone whose entire life had been turned around, and who hadn't seen another person for 3+ years.
I'd like to read the book now, for sure.
Interesting how they told the story of the virus in flashbacks/TV stories...

I love how he is a virologist who can engineer a cure in his bootleg-ass lab in his basement, and he is also a kickass army dude. I wanna be him when I grow up.

Also, one of the movie's only saving grace's was the dog. After that, it was dumb.

On a side not the zombies all keeps their pants on. I guess that there is a zombie code of conduct. You must wear your pants or there is no human meat on the table.

I am Legend is nowhere near the same league as 28 days later. i guess it's enough to keep you entertained for the duration, but really not anything more.

28 days later and 28 weeks later were awesome.

I am legend was just good.

I too thought an army colonal, who is a virologist, who can engineer strains in basement lab, who was in charge of new york, who was in charge of ground zero, who happened to be one of the 1% immune was a bit much.

I felt the CG with the deer was overshadowed by early 90's jurassic park's CG.

Still good movie though and would watch again... Great storyline.
