Avoiding the nine to five
Well, last night of school last night, today i'm moving out. The dorms were almost empty, but we decided that there was need for one last party. We snuck some of the people who had left back into the dorms and swapped out between several rooms, avoiding the CF's and Resident Ministers. Got fairly piss drunk and had a great time. So the time comes for bed and Athena, comparing her to a goddess would be fair , needs a place to sleep so I offer my room as it's empty and she can pass out on the mattress. Both of us are pretty drunk and we ended up just lying on the the bed with a fleece blanket of us. I have to say, I'm impressed as I didn't try anything, controlled myself and kept it in the pants. Spent the night cuddling and sleeping until about 6:30am when Athena had to get up(horses to attend to a few hours south). Walked her to her truck(big ass deisel Ram 3500 ) and said goodbye. I was a bit pissed that I hadn't made a move last night as I won't be seeing her until January, but realized that had I done that I'd be uncomfortable with myself. Saying goodbye this way just made things easier, nothing to worry about or speak our minds about. Probably one of the few times I'm proud that my "nice guy"-ness has kept me from doing something when I had the chance. It was freaking hard to keep myself from trying anything, but considering how sh!tty I feel this morning I think it was a good idea to abstain.

So ya, one more year of college has gone by and other than my sandal breaking last night there were no casualties. One more year that I can look back on and think.......is there a good cure for a hangover? Please help me.

You will probably forever regret last night even though you did the right thing :D - but hey, maybe she'll remember you next year, realize you were a decent guy, and give you her phone #.

Lots of water and asprin. Best cure for a hangover is 2-3 glasses of water before you go to bed the night before...

Hope you have an awesome summer!

Don't forget the other side of the situation. Drunk as she may have been, I don't know many girls who would've put themselves in that kind of situation without having some clue as to what could happen, just look at what ito's thinking. The bright side is that she'll remember you for hwo you respected her. The downside could be that she put herself in the situation where nothing happened, meaning that (in her eyes) he rejected her. Tough situation definitely.

Or more likely, she'll return with a boyfriend and all chances are gone. But she'll love you like a brother.

Ya, I thought about that. I'd rather have passed up an oppurtunity while drunk though than have scored and been the asshole. I'm pretty sure she was interested, but I also don't think she was expecting to get as drunk as she was.

Opie, you crack me up. I've found that my usual cure of greasy food and water is working just fine.

S.S., do I need to break out the photos?

Yes, I've got her number and she wants to keep in touch while I'm abroad in Australia, so I don't think I messed up too bad.

okay, i still think i'm right, but i need to know a little more. was the girl hammered? i mean, like can barely stand up and would hump a telephone pole if she saw one? or, did she just have a few drinks and probaby should not drive? dude, if she slept and cuddled in the same bed with you, chances are that she's been interested for a lot longer than you realize. i don't think you'd be a dick at all for hooking up. let me say this though, i have never had sex with a girl for the first time when she had been drinking or was drunk, and judging from what you've written so far, i would expect you to do the same. sorry dude, opportunity lost and a very good lesson learned.

This is so true...for most of the girls. :eviltongu Being very nice to a girl you like is a very good way to never have her. Even worse, she'll want to be your friend and you'll have to cope with her new boyfriend, who is a brainless moron and quite possibly rude to her.

However, I one did the exact same thing as Ito and this girl has now been my GF for almost 5 years. :p

So true.

My natural instinct is to do the "right thing", be the "nice guy"...but countless times after being a nice guy, I find out she just wanted me to be bad.

It's something we'll never figure out as men, we just have to cope with it, and hope that from time to time she gets fed up and jumps us. :D

There's a difference between doing the right thing and being a "nice guy." (aka chump) Nice guys do not get the girl.

If she was drunk to the point of not being able to make decisions regarding sexual activity, then yes, you did the right thing and that's good. Sex without consent is rape....not good at all. If she was simply fun drunk, then you are a chump. Yes, there are times that you get a second chance to hook-up after just spooning, but that's pretty rare. Looks like you've been relegated to friend status.

Regarding the hangover, go grab a cup of coffee, 2 multivitamins, a big bean burrito and a Bloody Mary. Also, take a shower and drink a couple glasses of water. You'll be fine.

I've never been accused of being a nice guy, so don't confuse my ideas on "doing the right thing" as nice. I believe in being honest with others at all times and not trying to put up some kind of dumb front. I also think there are far too many guys who don't have the self esteem to make a move when an opportunity arises, dump a girl and walk away when they should and keep themselves involved in their own interests rather than get wrapped up in hers.

When guys do these things, they need a  as a wake-up call for change. Otherwise they're letting the girl take advantage of them. I mean, if you're interested in a girl, just be yourself, and make sure that deep down, you're not a pu$$y. You don't have to be an ass, but you shouldn't pander to her every whim or kiss her butt because you want to go get hammered with the boys or enjoy some time away from her....and if she does break up with you because she thinks you're an ass, don't promise change for her sake. Just go find the next girl or three who will accept your personality along with the faults, or at least keep you occupied for the evening.

I'm dating a girl right now who knows that in I hooked up with quite a few of her friends in the past year, and even a former roommate of hers, but she's confident enough to handle it, and I'm independent and confident enough to handle the fact that she looks and dresses like a Penthouse Pet of the Year. It's a good thing, and I wouldn't be able to snag her if I were some sniveling wuss who calls her 17 times a day and wants to be involved in every aspect of every day of her life, or kiss her ass for a week when I do something stupid. Of course, I'll be 35 this month and she's 22, so we're pretty much at the same level of maturity.....ok, maybe there's a little discrepancy, but I think I may be catching up to her. :p

I think the laughter is curing the hangover, you guys are hilarious.

Friends or whatever, I'm not too concerned about what would happen between us. It's that I was able to control myself...which hasn't always been the case. Had she been fun drunk I would have without a doubt made a move, but considering the shape I was in and that she had kept up with me for part of the evening, I'd have been over a line I don't want to cross again. Besides, I spent the rest of the morning after this post up at a friend's room and, well....ya :sneaky:. It's not like women are walking over me, I learned not to let that happen a few girlfriends back, I'm not worried about that aspect.

Anyhow, I'm back at home now and heading to Australia in a few weeks and will be there and New Zealand until mid-December. Somehow I think there will be more than enough girls to hang about with over there. And hey, if I have the ability to hook up with Athena because I'm a nice guy and didn't take advantage of her.....more props to me.

NIce guys never win. You should have wipped it out and started slapping her in the face with it. You could always blame it on the booze in the morning. Your young you'll learn

I'll bet you five bucks she says she doesn't remember. and Ito can't be sitting there convincing her. she must simply say, "oh yes i remember," but nothing like, "uh.......i think i remember."
