I crashed at a skate/bike park in town for my friends bachelor party on Saturday evening doing a transfer. My front wheel slipped out on the metal between the ramp and concrete. I fell so fast an unexpectedly, I didn't even have a chance to put my arms out to catch myself. Thank god for my leatt and full face helmet.

2nd degree separation of the AC joint in my shoulder. SONOFA.

The doctors said I should be ok again in a few weeks, but that I also need to see a specialist just to double check and make sure nothing else got messed up.

I hope nothing else I messed up and that I will be fine to ride Whislter in August (trip is already paid for).

Now is the time to acknowledge that you need to slow down your level of riding.

I was running some street tires. I don't remember what they are off hand though.

And yes, leatt and full face even at the bike park. Better safe than sorry. I think my injuries would have been much worse if I wasn't wearing them. I hit the ground really hard with my head.

Swimming is how I dislocated both of my shoulders the first time. Apparently I shouldn't do anything,

lulz. i notice that sometimes even with proper street tires, the rubber gets slick if they are dusty.

lolz her mom does life insurance. So yes, she does have a agent on speed dial.

My wife is awesome. The best part is that she is basically a nurse too. It was meant to be.

I did a grade 1 about 2 months ago and I'm just getting to the point where I can wash my hair w/o pain. Figure 4-6 weeks off the bike.

But yeah, the alternative is you get your hand out in time and then you break your collarbone.

Next time I will make it more challenging.

These pain pills are making me feel like ****. I don't want to be at work right now.

I don't understand why you guys are so concerned with pretty standard mtb safety equipment being used? I went from riding trails to riding the park. I didn't bring multiple helmets with me (especially with my history, why not have the extra protection?) If I wasn't wearing the full face, my face would have been ****ed up from the fall. Again, happy I was wearing it.

Anyways, yeah I should apparently live in some kind of bubble. No more pain pills for me. So weird that I never had this problem with the same meds as recent as January. Oh well.
