How the hell do you answer a multiple choice test if you are blind? Do you have little sticky brail dots that you stick down or something?

Policies like this are just amazing. It's scary that total morons who enforce this kind of policy are put in charge of our schools.

The article clearly states that parents can request an exemption in their child's IEP due to disability. In other words, blind students do not have to pass Drivers' Ed.

I know what to say about this story. Waste of print, ink, electrons, time, blah, blah blah.

But teachers and students said that is a little-known option, and that they have been told driver’s ed is required to graduate.
If everyone knew about the option, and it was an easy option to take, then no blind students would be enrolled in the class.

Hey, I once sold my dead parakeet to a blind kid.
Did you nail it to the perch? Otherwise, it would have muscled up to those bars and voom!

not quite:

Vaughn said parents of disabled students can, by law, request a change in their child’s individual education plan, which could include a driver’s ed exemption. But teachers and students said that is a little-known option, and that they have been told driver’s ed is required to graduate.
you can request a change to your child's individual education plan... kinda like saying that your kid doesn't have to take history since he's with his dad on sabatical looking at midieval churches. how much paperwork do you think you have to do just to get that accomplished?

There is no common sense policy/pre-requisite for business majors or political science majors in college. Or in real life apparently.
