but is it any better? if you dig hard enough, you can find the guigal for as low as $8, though $12 is a more usual price. if you want to splurge, get the Cote-Rotie or Hermitage from Guigal. i've had both and they are excellent.
one of the best cote-du-rhones i've ever had though is a JL Chave bottling (can't recall the specifics, but i wished i'd grabbed more than 2 bottles back then).
If you are looking for a good rose' check out Guigal CdR Rose'. It is a better quality wine than the rouge (but it is still good). Rose's are perfect for the Dirty South's HOT summers.
