Hey - some dumba$$es have to pay for that obscene display of wealth, don't ya know? :p

Well, I hardly consider the amount I spent at the casinos this weekend could be construed as an obsene display of wealth...but I always only bring what I can consider 'entertainment' money. If I win, great...if I lose...god f'ing damn it son of a bitch! :mumble: :D

OH! And I always factor in the amount of free beer I consume whilst placing my paltry bets...come to think of it...I DID come out a winner this weekend! :thumb:

Pass Line Craps is the best bet in a casino. Make sure you play BIG odds as the house has no advantage on that bet.

Followed by Blackjack played with basic strategy 100% of the time

Followed by Bacarat.

PS Roulette and Casino War are the worst bets in the Casino.

People generally don't have even a rudimentary understanding of probability.
I was watching a show on gambling the other night and they said something that I think is appropriate to this conversation.

Amateur Gamblers bet on possility, while professional gamblers bet on probability.

That's where I was getting a big return on my bets...the pass line at the craps table...you put down five bucks...then something happens, not sure what, but then they give you 15 bucks on top of your original 5!

Many people don't play Craps because it looks confusing. On purpose, to hide the best odds game there is. Playing the pass line while "backing" your bet with odds will net you a win 99% of the time at the casino.

That 1% is where the house is making the money and in the long run the house will always win.

Take a craps class in vegas during the day, go play $1 craps at the westward ho to learn how, then hit the tables to win at night.

I was just thinking about looking up craps lessons online! I was actually in Tahoe. Too bad none of the Tahoe casinos offer those classes...maybe they do...who knows...I'll look into it on my next trip up there.

Maybe, I know Vegas places do it during the day before noon in most places.

Hey, DH Girlie, when will you be in Tahoe again? I work at one of the casinos, and if you email me (mantispf2000@yahoo.com), I'll let you know which one (here's a hint-- it's between Harrah's and Caesars). I work at night as one of the pit bosses. And yes, Harrah's, Harvey's, and Horizon have craps classes in the mornings. It does help to know the simple basics, then once you get a good bankroll (if the table is going your way), then think about the "funny" bets to really make a killing if it works.

Avoiding the nine to five
I had a bit of casino action for the first time ever last night. My school runs a casino night for the students, gets in professional staff and even if you don't want to play you can get free food :thumb:.

Anyway, started off with 500 at the roulette table, got a strategy and was up to about 4 grand after an hour, then lost it all. I literally watched the money dissappear in 5 bad turns of the wheel. :mumble:

Borrowed some money from a friend. Turned 50 dollars into 3 grand by playing a bit of poker and then hitting the roulette table for an hour again. I then proceeded to lose all of that in about 60 seconds due to some more bad turns of the wheel. Walked out empty handed. Lesson learned, the odds always catch up to you.

The Ito

P.S. fortunately it was all fake money to begin with

Lmao thats what I was thinking. The table I play has a max of $25 outside, and $10 inside, so you cant go and drop over $25 on a color :mumble: I've always wanted to get like a grand and put it on a color :D
