two weeks into our stay in our ("our" is a relative term since it really belongs to the bank) new house and this weekend I found the previous owner's pet cemetery while doing landscaping. Awesomeness! PSA: if you are gonna bury your pet(s) on your property, dig a deep grave.

Since buying a house I know EXACTLY what my property taxes fund and what they don't. I've even gone to City Council meetings to demand that bike lanes are put in when the repave roads, and that funding for local ice rinks stay in place. I know my property taxes for last year, my assessed value, and what I'll pay this year. In fact, my town just put the proposed budget up online for perusal and I didn't see one single fish ladder or hot-air-balloon research grant on it. EE front and center...

-The stimulus bill is being handled at the federal level. The money for it is coming from your federal taxes.
