My new Maxxis Goldspeed tires came mounted up to the Husqvarna TC 570 supermoto bike that I bought a week or so ago. I got it for less than most of you paid for your bicycles. I also have a Yamaha R1, but it was recently stolen. After it got stolen (it was recently recovered, but it was wrecked), I figured it would be a while till the insurance company got me a new bike, so I decided to get a supermoto bike. I have wanted one now for a year or so. All I had to do to come up with the coin was sell everything that I owned. Thanks to anyone who bought something from me. The money went to a good cause.
I have yet to take it to a track, but I have had a blast tearin' it up around residential neighborhoods, commercial parking lots, and whatnot. Right now it has slicks and is not street legal. It is also not registered for street use. I was told by the previous owner that the pipe was too loud and wouldn't pass the noise restrictions. I got it with the lighting kit, but haven't installed them yet.
I am having so much fun on this thing, I just might sell my R1 when I finally get it back. This new bike is also a lot slower (top speed), so I hope to get into a bit less trouble with the law and get into fewer high speed chases. I also think this will make for a good training tool for myself. My arms are way sore from riding this thing, and I have yet to take it on the dirt.
Right now I am trying to buy some leather, MX boots, and a MX helmet (hopefully this will replace my Protec for DH) before I take it to the track.
