Wow,
I am completely exhausted. I just ate enough food that any good I did while riding has been undone.

BUT, the ShirleyBracket 5000 nightrider mount performed absolutely great! I mean perfectly. I would recommend it to anyone to mount their lights in a similar fashion.

I did actually. Check the thread and lay off the sauce.
I'm sober dumbass. Flood or spot?

What is the length/distannce the light extends from the crown by the way? I think your setup is prolly better then the Hope setup as it would be like 50 times cheaper to manufacture. I run a fender so it would have to be atleast 4" out and 2" above it. If it wasn't really stiff it would be useless. I am thinking a flood down low and a spot on the helmet would be the tits....

That Hope thing looks like it weighs a jillion pounds on your stem.

You are right about flood for bars and spot for helmet. If you use 1 HID though, go with more of a flood.

I dont know if its a flood or spot. Its a stock nightrider trailrat. The bracket extends about 2 inches off the crown, and then theres the length of the light itself, so probably 4 inches altogether.
However, if I were running a fender, I would just find a way to mount it to the top of the fender somehow.
I didnt know hope did something similar either.

Hope mounts theirs on the stem, but the battery is there too. It seems like it would jack the steering.

I measured it all out today. I think your system will work better then what I am running now. However I can't find the steel bracket. Went to Home creappot and Lowes and could only find aluminum stock at Lowes. I will hit the local Iron store this week. I just need 7".

You could for sure get a bracket like that at an electrical supply house. Surely there is a CED or Granger in buffalo. But really, I would just get any piece of steel. The bracket I have isnt as thick as Id like it.
