I love chairlifts. And my wife.

I use a heavy polyester/cotton blend for most stuff. Occasionally I'll use a nylon thread, either "button" or "boot" thread.
Believe it or not, Walmart has a great selection.
I use my wife's sewing machine. It needs servicing though, I tend to hammer on it with thicker fabrics and too much back-tacking through heavy seams.
Eventually I'm going to get an old walking foot industrial machine. I crave power.

My wife tried to teach me to sew and I suck. She has a nice machine and a surger, but I couldn't manage.
