Respectfully, isn't that the fun of building up a new frame???Holy shit, I didn't realize how this bike would come in the box. Not one part assembled, hoses cut/bled, bb not pressed in, hset loose, etc, etc.
this will be a project. Steerer not cut, blah blah.
Reminds me of the way old days building bikes at the shop I worked at when I was 15.
In my mind there are just two possible bike colors: black, and not-black. When in doubt, choose the black option.Aesthetic question for the monkey minds. Gonna get new rsc guides (yeah, I know, I like em). The bike is all black. Should I get silver to offset it, or just go with murder?
Why not the pink ones?Aesthetic question for the monkey minds. Gonna get new rsc guides (yeah, I know, I like em). The bike is all black. Should I get silver to offset it, or just go with murder?
Best of luck! Jenson are good on warranty coverage, so buy 2 sets to keep you rolling.Just ordered the new XTR trail brakes, so color is moot. They were $50 cheaper on jenson than QBP!
what's the tl;drUh, oh, trouble in Yeti-Land. Hope I don’t regret my sb100 purchase...(read last two pages, they are exploderating)

I had been aware of that before this thread. I started looking into the Yetis a little bit if Pivot didn't come through with my warranty. The SB100 was attractive due to being a little beefier obviously, which is something I wish my 429SL was, after having it fail, maybe more like a 429 Trail, but with a new frame I can't complain now, if I get another few years I'll be pretty happy. For a 100mm frame, stiffness is huge to keeping it feeling snappy IMO (important for all bikes, but tends to get washed out a bit under pedaling with heavier rigs). Some of the sb100’s are exploderating
Get the one up quick change ring instead.Damnit, Absolute Black promised the chainring for Dec 6th, now they are saying January. That is the ONLY thing that I am waiting on...
:Monocle:Are they in stock?
Just checked, they don’t make that for 2019 XTR,( As far as I can tell)
you using a syringe or the stupid cup thing at the lever?I bled the new brakes, and the rear has the classic Shimano issue of the lever going *almost* to the bar, and then normalizing after 1-3 pumps. The front is rock solid (engages at the beginning of the lever stroke). Any Shimano bleeding tips from the experts?
was gonna ask, what's the ETA on M9100Exactly...that's just a 'placeholder' crankset until I get my chainraing. Probably won't see it until January.
IMO you have to use both.you using a syringe or the stupid cup thing at the lever?
i'm talking about using a double syringe setup. not using the cup / syringe setup in reverse.IMO you have to use both.
Cup at the MC, hose on caliper nip, pump lever a few times, hold, crack bleed nip and close.
Repeat a few times until bled.
I've unbolted the caliper too and let it hang, so the line is as straight as possible to the top.
Why stupid? It is the best thing about Shimano brakes. I never had a problem with bleeding them properly using the cup.you using a syringe or the stupid cup thing at the lever?
cool story broWhy stupid? It is the best thing about Shimano brakes. I never had a problem with bleeding them properly using the cup.
Not sure what you mean, I have the entire groupo installed, just waiting on the chainring.was gonna ask, what's the ETA on M9100
