That's probably the oil residue on the grinder from at least 100 pounds of beans over the past years. I think the grinder is 7-8 years old

i was gonna say, a QP in an entire academic year isn't that impressive.
I have had one for a while now...works great! I believe jonkranked got it for me as a RM SS gift. I did get a set of reusable filters too.
that definitely sounds about right. i believe there was also a stanley flask that i prefilled with some local bourbon as well?
Honestly its the grinder you should be more concerned with, how the water goes through the grinds is the simple part.
No, they bypass it like I did and go straight to Ritalin, it's cheaper and longer lasting.
As far as flavors go, Dex is nicer than Ritalin, Ritalin hs a bitter chemical taste.
