Hello, I have the free addition of panicware's pop up stopper, and now I sometimes have to sit their and wait for all these darn pop-ups to stop tring to manifest on my screen, sometimes it just goes crazy, like it freezes up, then its fine for about another 20 minutes. Any idea's?

I use the OPERA web browser which includes an option to refuse pop up's. It works great. kills em all. Great browser too. very fast. if you're interisted lemme know and I'll post a link to a copy of the software. You can get info at www.opera.com

i found out if i dont looke at as much porn i dont have to deal with as many pop-ups
Yeah, but who wants to look at less porn? I usually find that more porn is good porn. Or as a friend says, "Quantity is a quality all it's own".

www.crazybrowser.com is an internet explorer based internet program that completely blocks all pop ups, transfers all of your favorites you have saved in IE and it is tabbed, so instead of having multiple IE's in your taskbar, you have one running with multiple tabs that you simply click to get to, really awesome consolodation (sp?), unclutters your taskbar nicely.

HEAR YE... HEAR YE...

99% of popups are caused by software on your machine. Getting rid of this software is a far better solution than just blocking popups. Get/Run Adaware and Spybot... run them back to back, 3-5 times in a row. This should rid you of most of your popups. If you still get a lot of them, lay off the porn.

Well, that's not quite true. There are many websites that use pop-ups as a means for their advertising. CNN.COM is one of them. Yes, there are lot's of adware programs that cause popups, and yes, ad-aware, and spybot will get rid of most of them. But for stopping pop up's in general you can't beat OPERA, (and I think that it's a number faaar less than 99%). Besides, it looks really cool, it's not MS, and it has the best full screen view out there. Also, I must reitterate, laying off the porn should not be an option. More porn is gooooood porn.

Yup me to. For years now. IE sucks. :o: I only use it for internet-banking.

I'll second that. I don't bother with Adblock, and I haven't seen a popup in more than a year.
I use Adblock for banners and those frickin god awful flash ads. I tried opera but with a built in banner ad it immediately earned my spite.
