Shut up and ride...
I have had an authentic WWII rifle from the European theatre.

The problem is, I have been unsuccessful in locating any data or pricing information on it.

It was manufactured in Budapest. It is an M35. I'll have more details later, and pics, but, is there anyone who knows about, or how to find out about them?

The best place to find the value is to look at auctions for similiar items and see what the winning bid is.

LGS would be a good place to start. I know some collectors, but only professionally. If you come to a real dead end looking, I can put you in touch with someone who will know where to look.

My guess is its a version of the german KAR 98 that most of the krauts used in WWII. Looks like one, thats for sure.

That was my guess, but pics of the entire gun would help more. I know that Germany had several occupied countries producing thier arms during WWdos.

That looks like the bolt handle comes out at 90 dagreed when the action is closed, the K98 has a bend in the bolt handle. My guess is a russian mosin-nagant, If I am not mistaken budapest was under the USSR's control at some time durring WW2.

I have no idea what it is then, I DOUBT its a K98. And only things like bore condition, pitting and such, throught tolerences, and general action funtion can give you a good idea of value

My father has a few Cech rifles from WWII and one of our friends collects and sells WWII memorabilia. If you can post a complete pic of the gun or e-mail it to me I can find out exactly what it is for you. I have one gun that took quite a while to discearn it's origins as some guns changed names as the stocks changed and parts were interchangable.

Rifle 7.92 mm M98/40
A redesigned Hungarian Model 35, for German use, the calibre was changed from 8 mm to 7.92 mm. A staggered row Mauser type box magazine, flush with the stock, was fitted and German type bands and bayonet lug were used on this rifle, designated model 98/40 by the Germans. Apart from the magazine, it is similar to the Mannlicher-Schoenauer turn bolt and was made in Hungary under Nazi control in 1940.
I asked my friend what he thought it was and he said 5 round mag 1935 model 35 Hungarian Service Rifle from WWII. I googled that and the above is what came up.

is ALWAYS key I say...
pm me and I can get you a buddy of mines email and you can ask him. He has like 65 guns in his house. Old WWI, WWII type stuff, & wild west winchesters, recent stuff, you name it. He drives his wife nuts buying guns all the time with his paychecks over feedin his three kids. He's got muskets, ammo making kits for muskets like as in makes his own lead balls, and bullets etc. One day his house is gonna explode. He has all those gun books that show the markings and stuff and is a major gun nut. Goes to gun shows and sits there and talks gun stuff with guys back and forth spouting off model numbers and info like an encyclopedia. PM me if you want.
