I need an internet filter/blocker for firefox pretty please...

any of you know some content filters for firefox??? a plugin or a program that i can use to restrict the internet (like porn, gore, games and such) but that doesnt mess up with anything else?????

I use content watch, for home use it's adequate. You can download a trial for free, use it for 10 days or so and decide if you want to keep it for like $25. The trial includes all kinds of neat stuff like remote access to reports and controls but after you register they want to charge an additional fee for that service, honestly I never needed the remote stuff so it doesn't bother me that much, just the fact that they don't disclose the features that aren't available after registering the product up front.

I don't think there are any free programs that actually work. At least I couldn't find any about a year ago.

you can filter with internet options in control panel.

by the way, thanks to ride monkey, ive long-ditched internet explorer and gone with firefox. it kicks so much ass.

The filter in IE only works to block everything but what's on an approved list, in other words it doesn't do a thing. I think it was one of those features MS included in IE hoping that some third party would develop a way of making it work. Nobody ever made it work though.

There are some more elaborate filters that work more like a hardware firewall. I can't remember the name of the one we had at work, St. Bernard's or something.
