My new mountain bike shoes work really well, but the carbon is slick on the pedal if you miss it and I know this will be an issue in cross races. Any ideas on something I could stick on there to help? I thought about skateboard grip tape, and then maybe buying a snowboard stomp pad.

Old tennis shoe, box cutter, super glue.

*shrug* ^^ That might work...I'd be skeptical of skate board grip tape...and I have no idea what a snowboard stomp pad is..

I used a trashed typhoon tire, so it won't be as good in the mud but still should do better

Awesome. I always just put a couple of small lines of Shoe Goo if someone needs traction there.

But it was a Dugast tire....so the weight was minimal I road with those shoes today and I think the extra tread helped me hook up better overall
