need the quickest way to transfer ~10 gig of files from one computer to another (windows to mac) i do not have an external hard drive. only idea i have is burn a bunch of cds. (i would do dvd but i cannot install drivers into the computer with the files, so cd would be the only thing like that) maybe do they make a cable i can connect the computers together with?

thanks

You should connect the computers with a USB cable. duh!
It'll go something like this:
Computer 1: ...uhh..hello..other computer?...
Computer 2: ...yep...
Computer 1: ...well...
Computer 2: (aside) boy this is awkward too bad we can't do anything like this
Computer 1: ...
Computer 2: ...

1. firewire target disk mode if your PC is unlame enough to support it
2. two ethernet cables + a router
3. crossover ethernet cable + manual IP addresses on the same subnet
4. best buy Geek Squad to the rescue for $$$
5. ask one of your classmates
6. use the iPod's hard disk mode as, well, a hard disk

buy an external hard drive casing for like $30, take the HD out of the windows machine, install to external casing. BAM!

Kinda like birthing a goat, right? Only without the afterbirth mess.

Share all the files on the old computer and they should show up in the network places or mac equivalent on the new one, both of which would be hooked to a router. Works for me
