Fox is taking back orders on the 36 & 40 (something they usually don't do) to better estimate the demand for the specific models (R/RC/RC2) and for the total line. I almost went for a 40 also but I think I'll let my bank account recover first. My CC wont be charged until the product is available and the ground shipping is free.

It is scheduled to arrive between late Dec. and the first week of Jan.

Anybody want to buy a TALAS RLC? :cool:

That's nice, but I have a marzocchi all mountain 1 :D ;p

not quite the same class (it's around the same weight(sub 5lbs), but a coil fork and not 20mm to keep huckers from using it for hucking, it's for trail riding stuff, not full on freeriding)...marz has 05 forks avail though, which is pretty cool.

I looked into the fox, and I could have gotten a killer deal...but the dates for delivery are already starting to be pushed beyond the new year, so one has to wonder if we will even see them in january???

The All Mtn. is a rad fork, I am going to have to build a new front wheel since I am QR right now so that does kinda suck but I really like the additional steering precision of a 20mm anyway. Fox is behind in getting to their product to market but they have a good track record of releasing products after the bugs have been worked out so I'd rather wait and have a solid 36 then get a bugged one now. I have the TALAS to hold me until Jan. and I absolutely love it so I really don't mind waiting. I thought about just getting an all mountain or a Sherman Firefly but I have a few good friends at Fox and I really believe in their product. Those same friends assure me that the new forks will be ready no later than early Jan. and maybe late Dec. That's why they are taking backorders, to determine the real demand and step up production to meet it accurately. I wish I could say I was paying retail but there's no way I can afford it or justify it even if I had the funds. It's not that I think it's overpriced per say it's just outside of my budget being relatively low income. Now the problem is deciding exactly what frame it's gonna go on and if I should build a whole new wheelset or just a front. I'm leaning towards all new since I won't be stuck with a random front wheel. Thing is I love my wheelset and I only built 'em at the beginning of the year. Anyway there are a ton of great forks in this category now, I just fell for the Fox because it's so sweet! :love:

RC2? Fox do encrypted forks now?
R=Rebound
C=Compression
2=Two-Stage

It means it has two-stage damping. This is nothing new to Fox they have offerred it on desert racing shocks for years. Also the naming conventions are the same as before, for example RLC on the current forks means:

R=Rebound
L=Lock-Out
C=Compression

:)

Did you get a price quote on that bad boy, im planning on getting one myself.
better get the defibrillator handy 'cause this might stop your heart. Retail is about a grand for the RC2 but this is most likely the sweetest fork of it's kind to date. There are many other more financially viable options but not if you are addicted like me :love:
