if you have two aces, it forces you to treat 'em both as "1" or "10"... as opposed to mixing it up, so if you have a seven and two aces, the game gives you 9 or 29... as opposed to a solid 19.
As for splitting, you always split aces and eights... others are questionable depending up what the dealer has and your intuition.
well there are many casinos that don't let you split ever...and they don't hit on soft 17...both of which give the player a better advantage...I think it's cool for a flash game though....I may just have to play again and take the score out of reach Skookum

cuz you've got 16... that's worthless for you, you can't hit that and if the dealer doesn't bust, you've lost. As you know, there are a lot of 10pt cards in the deck which will give you a respectable 18. And an ace, two or three helps your hand, too. Lots of ways to improve both hands. If the dealer is showing a low card and I draw a two or three on one or both of my splits, I'll double down.
Yah i can only count cards fairly decent on Pinochle, or at least i used to when i played. i suppose counting 10's,Jacks,Queens,Kings, would go a long way in BJ.
I never learned how to play from anyone but i figured it's a solid way to play betting on hitting 10's more often than not. I just don't think i could make my brain keep track of counting all 52 unless i practiced all the time....
the system I use is fairly simple...so you can count up to 6 decks if you're not heavily distracted. Although it did take me 3 months to master it....I have limited my gambling ways since I have been married so I can only count about 2 decks...I just have always liked blackjack since I was a kid....don't know why...D
