Nice work!

:)

Was the wood floor not worth saving?

The downstairs is 3/4 inch hardwood. The upstairs is just pine flooring, and I wanted carpeting in the 'master bedroom'. In a couple months, Im going to rent a sander and refinish the whole downstairs and the rest of the upstairs... that should make a nice mess :p .

Anyone else have any 'before and after' pictures of any remodeling they have done?
Well, the pic on the left was taken after I had started demolition, but it didn't look much better before I started.

This project is on its third year.

Major changes since I bought includes:

New windows
Bricks have been rejointed
New balcony
Refinished crown molding

Today they are starting on replacing the old metal roof with a brand new galavanized steel roof made by a specialist in old roofing.

Before and after pics

Love the windows! But you need to bring back some shrubbery in front.
I know, I need to paint the balcony first and then re-plant some nice evergreens and those plant that flowers every year (don't know the english word).

The upper frame of each windows will eventually get a stained glass panels.

Stained glass idea sounds sweet! I'm just about ready to put some shrubs around my house. We just had it painted, but right now, it looks pretty bare without something around the bottom. We're also going to put shutters up for some nice accents as well as fill in the areas between the sidewalk and street with rock and some more shrubs. Here's a pic. That green you see in the side area is not grass. Its weeds.

Do you have an apt upstairs?

Also re-jointing as you called it is actually called re-pointing when refering to mortar joints.
