i am getting rid of my as-x for a road bike and an urban hardtail. i will eventually buy a used full suspension XC bike.

there are many reasons for this move to the non dirt/dh/freeride world of which i dont really feel like going into.

my bike is at pro bikes in asheville right now up for grabs for 1500.00 bucks. screamin deal by the way.

Doesn't matter who is who or what is what. Mountain biking is supposed to be fun, otherwise what's the point. Hope you find your happy place Biggs. :dancing:

I've got a '02 De Rosa Merak frameset in a 58cm - frame, fork HS, seat collar (roughly 450 miles), Profile carbon crankset 172.5 w/ 53/39 rings (same milage on rings), BB (same milage), rear der (same milage), a 6500 11-23 cassette and 7700 chain (same milage).

If you're interested, flip me a PM and the parts list on your ASX.

take a few weeks off, if you havent already and stay off all of the bikes... then think things thru. That asx is a sweet bike it would be a shame to get rid of it

Sweet, so when I come up you can be the [insert the word that is not allowed to be said when referring to Pisgah single track] driver and then we will go out drinking  :blah: :thumb:

I am telling ya. Use my idea about setting up MTB "Guides" at work and then along with your "Range Rover" "Drift boat" they will buy you a sweet single track rig for work.

Then you will be all set. :) :)

I do not like fishing either, but he does, and it is a bada$$ job. Even though I dont like fishing I would kill Biggins and hide his body in the woods if I thought I could take over his job.

Those long road rides on the perineum should go nicely with that. ;) By the time you find yourself again, you'll have to borrow some of ______'s Viagra to facilitate the nasty!

Nope - but it would be listening to this guy that I regret hiring chuckle all fugging day long. He has been in the crosshairs since he decided to leave early without saying anything.

the shuttle service would be dope but not quite in lione as far as historical use of the property.

as far as being a limo driver for pisgah, sure why not. actually i am going to directr a lot of time for taking riding photos and try to figure out how to nmarket myself for it.

Kind of like how they do it at races? But even better if you get a "Group" of people that want you to document their riding/vacations. Get with some of the local outfitters and touristy Bike shops (Backcountry/Liberty etc)

Do you take pictures of your fishing expeditions with the guests? Along with lessons you guys should offer a pictorial documentation. Snap a bunch of shots of the folks fishing, having a good time, burn them onto CD's and sell for an additional 19.99 :thumb:

I can't say that I blame you. I quit dh too.

Unless you live in near a chair lift, DH is pretty useless. Most of the time you have to ride up hill, so you can ride downhill which sucks. by the time you get to the top of the hill your too tired to ride down with any sort of speed.

Then you have to start putting stupid parts on your big hit bike like front derailers, which completely deny you of doing any sort of cool trick like barspins tailwhips, and truck drivers. So all you can do is ride up the trail then down. Might as well just ride a XC bike! Not to mention the cost. You can buy a great urban bike for right around $1000. you can't even get a frame and fork at that price for a DH rig.

road bikes are great, you can ride really fast, and dodge in and out of traffic. Urban bikes allow you to do tricks, and be creative in finding new places to do them.

Big bikes are dead!

I'm gald to see someone else has jumped on the same bandwagon as me!

Biggins complaining and getting great pub for his bike sale.... 516 hits
Biggins enjoying the calming nature of a road trip with pics... 130 hits

haha an interesting study, someone write a paper on it.

thats just cause everyone was thinking i was gonna quit my fishing job!

seriously it is kinda strange. my roadtrip[ thread has been pretty lame and it was waaaaaaay more impresive than this thread.

i wouldnt really say i am complaining either, more of a declaration.

hmm that's true, you really haven't even said anything about hanging the big bike up, you just stated it. That's how silence goes, it's left to the reader to fill in the blanks. Kind of like a violent movie they pan away to something else and you don't ever see it make it way more worse left to the imagination. :D

I'm waiting until I get home to view that one, since it's got a lot of pictures. I'm sure some other work monkeys are doing the same.
